I grew up in Richland, and I chose to raise my family here—all four children and now nine grandchildren. Each step of the way, I’ve sought opportunities to be involved and help move projects forward that create a benefit for our community. Beyond my current community service commitments, I founded Cool Desert Nights 26 years ago and actively participated on the Employer Linkage Committee for the Workforce Development Council from 2000 to 2004.
During my time as a Port Commissioner, the Port received Port of the year in 2007, completed the $23M Wine Science Center in partnership with the Wine Industry and WSU Tri-Cities, planned and finished the developmental building in Vintner’s Village, and supported the Chukar Cherries expansion in Prosser to continue to spur value added agriculture into our district.
I will continue to support economic development and job growth opportunities for the region and district served by the Port of Benton. We can achieve much through focusing on the new industrial land transferred to the Port and City of Richland, advocating for future regional investments in clean energy manufacturers, and pursuing a new development building in Richland.
